PHP – Nagios Ping & Traceroute Tool

Another day, another mini project.

My place of work pretty much demanded the need for our monitoring guys (i.e. people that stare at the nagios screen, waiting for red things) to have the ability to run traceroutes from nagios to the effected node – The twist in the story was that they wanted to do it from a browser !

So, I thought, that’d be an easy php script then  , well to be honest it took a little longer than expected, mainly because I don’t really understand regular expressions (yet).

Nagios-ping-tool Is a package of small scripts :

Standards are Important

My site being down for a while, gave me a chance to look over by site code.

I found http://validator.w3.org/ which is a really great tool for checking that your website meets the correct standard.

Valid HTML 4.01 Transitional

As you can see, my index.php code is correct  Just 45 errors left to fix on my blog :(

Linickx.com IS BACK !!!!!!!!!

After a few weeks of downtime, my site is finally back on line.

You’ll notice the banner at the top of this post, this is my way of saying a BIG THANKS to Chis at Urevised.com for all the hard work he’s put in; I know I pestered him a lot , but I found him to be very dedicated and helpful; it’s been worth it in the end ! I’m one very happy customer (again ;) ) and would recommend urevised hosting.

I’m not sure what he did to fix wordpress but as soon as I know, I’ll share it with the support forum
