Also, you have to restart Tomboy when you manually make changes to the note directory.

Don’t worry about manifest.xml, that file is used internally for some synchronization features, and does not do what you think it does.

I just noticed a typo in my post…

OLD Path = C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\tomboy
New Path = C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\tomboy

Did you copy to the right place?

Is there anything more required to transfer linux tomboy notes to windows?

I copied the note files to the location of the note files on Windows, but they are not appearing. I verified that the xml format is the same.. It just doesn’t appear to scan the directory for files. The manifest.xml doesn’t appear to have index data, but it must be somewhere, right?

Yeah, we have some work to do to make this more discoverable before the 0.14.0 stable release! Hopefully the gtk-sharp installers will be fixed by then, too.

Hi Sandy, Thanks for the feedback, at least now I know there were some proper install instructions! Google couldn't find them and I didn't see any obvious "readme" type links on the project or live pages:( ..it doesn't matter, this post and your comment will help others in the future; keep up the good work, I love tomboy !

Just so you know, we’ve been keeping install instructions on our wiki here:

That’s linked from the download page, now. The instructions are quite similar to yours, but I’m going to add the info about copying over notes. Feel free to edit the wiki if you have anything to add.
